Lapis is a relatively rare semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its deep blue color. The finest color is intense blue, lightly dusted with small flecks of golden pyrite. Patches of pyrite are an important help in identifying the stone as genuine and do not detract from its value. It is listed as a December birthstone and may be given as a gem on the 7th and 9th wedding anniversary. Top quality lapis lazuli comes from Afghanistan where is has been mined for more than 6000 years, but is also found in Siberia, Chile, the U.S., Pakistan, and Canada. Now receive FREE SHIPPING!
