Squash Blossom Necklaces

The
squash blossom necklace is a traditional adornment for many Native American
women, especially the Navajo, and has been
for many centuries. It has been worn not only by women and little girls, but
also by men of status such as medicine men and chiefs.
The necklace gets its name from the silver beads
that have petal-like additions.
In native language they are called the "bead that turns out".

In addition, among the designs that the southwest Indians use is a
crescent-shaped object that is called a "naja". You will frequently find it hanging from the bottom of most
squash blossom necklaces.

It is the desire of most women to own a squash
blossom because it is the quintessence Native American necklace. Despite
this, many women believe these necklaces look too heavy to wear. Generally
we have found wearing them to be very comfortable. Plus you will not find
an item of jewelry that will receive more complements than when you are wearing
one! An authentic American Indian made sterling
silver and turquoise squash blossom is what we call heirloom quality. You can
hand it down or resell it for what you paid for it. It is worth the investment and it will repay you with a glorious feeling
every time you wear it for as long as you own it. Go on, be the envy of
all of your friends!
